Radiance with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette Review
Do you wear makeup every day? I’ve always wondered how many people do. I mean other than going out to dinner, going into the office or visiting/shopping with friends. Or do you not know what to do with makeup and always wanted to just do a barely there look? Have I got a blog for you. We’re going to highlight a beautiful barely there palette Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette.
I have to come to really appreciate this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette and find myself reaching for it more and more. There are three shaded palettes: Volume I, Volume II and Volume III ranging from lightest to darkest, and I purchased the Volume I palette for the purpose of a “barely there no makeup look.” Otherwise, I probably would have purchased the Volume II instead.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette - How to Use
Here’s what I do for a no makeup look, which anyone can do, even those who don’t know where to start!
After my cleansing and moisturizing routine,
I begin with Summer Fridays Skin Tint. It’s incredibly light and has minimal coverage so it won’t settle in lines. Shake the tint, put a large dime size on the back of your hand and load it up with your brush, placing two dots across the forehead, one on either side of the nostrils, and on the middle of the chin. After you’re done dotting and spreading across the T-Zone, whatever is left on the brush feather out to the sides of the face and down the neck. Make sure everything is blended around the hairline, jawline and neck to avoid demarcation lines.
If you don’t have a concealer, get YSL Touche Éclat Awakening Concealer Click Pen which is the absolute thinnest concealer I can think of but also brightening. Otherwise, use your favorite. Dot the tiniest amount where you see darkness under your eyes. I use two dots under each eye. Use a small fluffy brush or your finger to spread it out and blend so there is no lines where your concealer ends and your skin begins beneath it, being careful not to tug on the skin.
Using Hourglass Cosmetics Ambient Lighting Palette, Volume I, take a blush brush and sweep both cheeks upward to the temples and then around the top of your forehead. I also take more with a fluffy brush to start at the middle of my hooded lid and up to the end of my eyebrow. The idea is receding the lid while giving your eye a lift. Darker shades minimize what you don’t want to be emphasized, lighter shades bring forward. On the mobile lid, I use the middle shade (like an almost white highlighter) and with my finger tap it across the lid, mostly in the middle and blending it with my finger across the lid.
You can use whatever you have for your brows, or I find the easiest to use is Brow Up. Lightly brush up and over. (It will fill in your brows and keep in place plus contains a growth serum.
For mascara, I recommend Lash Up. Start at the base of your eyelashes and twist the brush as you sweep up. I use two coats, but with this look just one. It will coat the lashes beautifully, help elongate and curl, help with density over time with the growth serum, and washes off easily with cleanser and warm water.
Follow up with your favorite lipstick or lip balm. If you’re not used to wearing lipstick, go for a glossy balm like Hourglass Phantom Volumizing or matte balm Saie Lip Blur. (Dot on and blot with finger.) Both offer neutral shades, or you can be daring and choose a brighter one. 💋
